பழியை மேற்கொண்டு இழிதொழில் செய்து பெறும் செல்வத்தை விடச் சான்றோர் வினைத்தூய்மையோடிருந்து பெறும் பொல்லாத வறுமையே சிறந்தது.
பழியை ஏற்று அடைந்த செல்வத்தைக் காட்டிலும், பெரியோர் அனுபவிக்கும் வறுமையே உயர்ந்தது.
Far more excellent is the extreme poverty of the wise than wealth obtained by heaping up of sinful.
